Elderly Ministry
"I have been young and am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his seed begging bread." Psalms 37:25

What Does the Bible Say About the Elderly
Scripture speaks of old age as an honor (Proverbs 20:29) and commands us to show respect to the elderly (Leviticus 19:32). When God’s judgment came upon Israel through an evil nation (Deuteronomy 28:50; Isaiah 47:6), one of their marks of wickedness was that they “do not respect the person of the aged” and they laid a “heavy yoke on the elderly.” Job declares, “With aged men is wisdom, and understanding in length of days” (Job 12:12). Likewise, the psalmist says, “Those who are planted in the house of the LORD will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bring forth fruit in old age; they will be full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him” (Psalm 92:13–15).
